Got this aioli on clearance not realizing just how far out of date it was. Is this safe to eat or should aioli be avoided past the date?

The texture looks very weird, very much looks like it’s gone off. I would throw it away. I wouldn’t mess with eggs.

Hmmm… if something is quite expired, I usually will toss.

Probably, but trust me not worth it. If it were actually a good sauce I might risk it lol. This ain’t it chief.

No, it is not safe to eat. My significant other was a manager for stonewall and he says it can make you very sick because it contains raw eggs

  5. If the safety button isn’t popped then it’s safe to eat. The date is for flavor quality not safety. As long as the safety button on jars or the can hasn’t started bulging yet it should be safe. If it smells bad though, then better not.

I thought this was sourdough starter at first. I wouldn’t risk it.

  7. In most cases…why risk it? almost 7 months expired, with mayo (raw egg) and meat…Saving 4 bucks isn’t worth food poising for me.

  8. This may have been on clearance, but if you have the receipt, consider taking it back and getting your money back. That shouldn’t have been on the shelf in the first place.

Bubbles in it. May be fermenting. Canned food that pops open can reseal itself.

Whatever it costs is much less than a hospital bill.

Safe or not you should take it back if you still have the receipt. Stores aren’t supposed to sell things past expiration, let alone *that* far out of date.

No, ailoi is a type of mayonnaise. And it’s 7 out of date.

There are two things I don’t mess around with, canned foods and lunch meat. Both need to be packaged correctly and lunch meat gets eaten within a week after opening. Botulism and listeria are nasty creatures. Everything else gets the sniff test. 😁

I’d toss this bubbly if I were you.

    I don’t like wasting food.

If it’s sealed, the safety button is not pooped, and it doesn’t smell bad then I would consider it “safe” for me to eat.

However, it being made of mayo and bacon, the oils and fats in it may be rancid especially if the jar was stored improperly.

So it might be safe but it may not taste good anymore.

  15. It’s sealed and unopened, open it and taste it. It’s not going to kill you.

  16. aioli is just fancy mayonnaise. you don’t touch mayonnaise you aren’t sure about.
