First post. First attempt at sushi after studying up and researching. (It tasted great!)
I forget what is in each roll, but it was an assortment of tuna, crab, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese and spicy mayo.
Feedback welcome and appreciated!

Looks good! You’re getting clean cuts with your knife. As you get more practice, your fillings will end up in the center. Try putting some scallion or green onion with your tuna.
Personally, I would say more fish in the fish/rice ratio, but they look good
For first time good job! I’d add a little more meat next time. But still look good, and I’d definitely chow down on them. Keep at it!
Aim for a single layer of rice – one grain thick. It’s tough with sticky rice and nori tearing easy, but it’s doable. Then there will be more room for filling, and the ratio will be better. TBH you are already almost as good as half the grocery store sushi in my area. Very good for a first shot. Pretty good even if it was after a few more attempts. You should be proud and happy!
First of all, it looks amazing, and you did an amazing job. The cuts look clean, the fillings look tasty, and it has a great presentation.
If there’s anything you’d like to maybe add to your experience:
Sauces:
– unagi sauce (might be hard to find in the store) if you’d like to add some sweetness
+teriyaki sauce works too
-Sriracha sauce is great if you’d like to add some spice
+you can also mix it with some mayo to get spicy mayo
-soy sauce
+some people like to mix the ginger with Wasabi and soy sauce too
Toppings:
-sesame seeds add a nutty flavor
-furikake powder can add a boost of flavor if you’d like
+can overpower the sushi
-masago (fish eggs capelin roe)
-scallions
-anything you like 🙂
Drinks: (if you like alcohol)
-japanese style beer (Sapporo, Asahi, kirin ichiban, to name a few)
-sake (sorry don’t really know any brands)
I hope any of this helps, and here’s to many tasty adventures in the future!
Edit: sorry they’re not lining up right.
