I’m confused. You plugged in an immersion circulator?

My mom and I on vacation in Canada used the hotel trashcan to sous vide our ribeyes.

Just make sure you don’t crack the countertop due to prolonged heat.
MrGecko
Put a towel under the container. Solid counter tops can crack with long cooks
overzealous_dentist
this would utterly terrify the UK
(no outlets allowed in bathrooms)

Clean your mirror, good lord

Not a sous vide, but I’ve had my fermentation station and seed starting trays in my bathroom when I needed the kitchen counter space for something else

I do this all the time. Bathrooms have 20mg circuits and it keeps the kitchen counter less cluttered for a long cook.

I don’t think of anyplace in the house as weird, really. If I need counter space it can go in the bedroom for all I care. As long as it’s not in an area where anyone can trip and knock it all down it’s just fair game.
Clean your mirror.

I leave it in the garage usually because the sound is annoying and it’s out of the way.

At the foot of my bed. Keeps my feet warm during overnight cooks.

In the garage… in 25 Fahrenheit weather… using my electric beer brewing equipment that has recirculation pump. Two 15 pound turkeys (butchered before bagging).

My bachelor party was at a resort in Northern Michigan. We weren’t allowed to check into our condo when we arrived and were set to play golf before it would be ready. The cart guys let us plug it into an outlet in the maintenance building and we retrieved the pot and steaks after our round.

Even if you were cooking food in your bathroom at home it’d be gross. Cooking food in a hotel or motel bathroom is another level of disgusting.

This is a great idea when you’re the family “BBQ guy” and are on vacation. Pick up some 2-inch steaks locally, and bring your sous vide kit!
