Opinion please: do you prefer the cookie with or without an eye dot?


I'm making a first draft of tropical / Hawaii themed cookies and while decorating I just can't decide if I like the dot on the eye or not. Please chime in! (They are coconut/pineapple cookies and I'm painting them with coloured white chocolate, using a toothpick)

    Without is better, with makes it look like a person wearing a mask instead of a tiki idol / god

    I think the ones without eye dots are creepy. The dot gives the design a focal point and makes it easier to look at.

    With the dot. I think it look incomplete without it. Don’t get me wrong, the designs are lovely, but it’s better with the dot.

    Without it looks like a legit tiki wooden carving

    I like with a, you could do different colours too! I also do like without, maybe try blacking them out though? Or have some all white and some black or even some solid colours you used in the mask itself? I think variety would look very nice 😊

    Without. Honestly they look amazing either way, but I love the look of them without the eye dot.

    Interestingly it does make quite a difference. The answer depends on your artistic goal. If you want them to look like masks and lifeless objects then no dots. If you want them to look lively and to have character then add the dots.
