A new Mediterranean restaurant with a lavish décor to rival La Bellezza’s will open its doors to the public this week.

Regina’s Bar and Restaurant is opening in the Newhall Street spot previously occupied by Glynn Purnell’s Bistro and Ginger’s Bar after a major refurbishment.

Now boasting a grand new interior, with an impressive entrance, high-end furnishings, a show-stopping bar and a 3.5-metre-wide 3D flower sculpture suspended from the ceiling, owners hope the impressive new restaurant will ‘elevate Birmingham’s bar and dining scene’

The menu will be focussed around authentic Mediterranean flavours, with tapas dishes like Mushroom and Truffle Arancini, Slow-roasted Beef Croquettes, and Mediterranean Lamb Kofta, indulgent specialties like Kings Beluga Caviar and pasta made fresh in-house including a Ravioli Aragosta.

There will also be a grill selection showcasing aged premium cuts like a 28-Day Aged Chateaubriand and a drinks menu made up of expertly-crafted cocktails, fine wines and premium spirits.

Final preparations are in full swing ahead of the grand opening on Friday, March 28 and reservations are now open online, with the first 300 subscribers to the mailing list being offered 40 per cent off food vouchers.

Regina’s is being opened by the same creative team behind Noels Bar and Restaurant on the waterfront.

Co-director Jimmy Devollaj said: “We believe exceptional dining starts with the finest ingredients. Every dish is crafted with precision, from our freshly made pasta to our expertly grilled prime cuts.

“We’re committed to delivering an unparalleled, high-end experience that blends Mediterranean warmth with sophisticated flavours.”

Fellow co-director Sabi Ukaj added: “We’re truly excited to be nearing the grand opening of Regina’s Bar and Restaurant. We can’t wait to welcome our guests to indulge in an unforgettable dining experience, where the vibrant flavours of the Mediterranean meet the heart of Birmingham.

“An enormous amount of hard work has gone into creating this restaurant, from crafting the perfect menu to designing a space which reflects the very essence of fine dining and warm hospitality.

“While we will always do our best to accommodate walk-ins, the opening of Regina’s Bar and Restaurant is highly anticipated, so we’d strongly recommend reserving a table as soon as bookings open to avoid disappointment.”
