I went to a nearby River that has aphid infested dandelions and kidnapped a few ladybugs and larvae into a plastic bottle. I put a small part of the plant in there too. I put like 3 out onto the pepper plant at home and one of them started to lay eggs the day of, others are in refrigerator.

Because they were in a stressful environment, a bottle that was shaking a lot in the car and got a bit hot, do y’all think it made them lay eggs? Does stress induce egg laying in ladybugs? Or am I just lucky

I have no idea if stress induces eggs in ladybugs, but I recently learned stress in shrimp induces reproduction. Thanks Reddit for relentlessly reposting anything that gets even a taste of karma.

As I understand they like moisture, food and safety from predators. Congratulations on the babies!

I can’t ever seem to get them to lay eggs, not that I’ve noticed at least. You seem to have luck coming your way!
