For the dough:
All purpose flour – 3 cups
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
Lukewarm water – 1 1/4 cups (add more if needed)
Instant dry yeast – 2 teaspoons
Sugar – 1 teaspoon
Black & white sesame seeds
Za’atar mix:
Za’atar – 1 tablespoon
Olive oil – 1/2 tablespoon
For brushing:
Egg yolk – large
Curd – 1 tablespoon
For the dip:
Thick curd – 1 cup
Za’atar – 1 tablespoon
Ground black pepper – 1 teaspoon
Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
Olive oil – 1/2 tablespoon
* Mix warm water, yeast and sugar, combine & set aside for rising.
* In a large bowl add flour, salt, olive oil and combine well.
* Add on the yeast mix and knead well to form a soft dough (add more flour & water if needed).
* Cover with a wet cloth & rest for an hour to rise well.
* Make medium size balls and flat out with hands in a baking tray.
* Brush the egg yolk mix and make traditional turkish bread design with ur fingers.
* Sprinkle the sesame seeds & on other spread out za’atar mix.
* Bake it in a preheated oven (180*C) for 20~25 minutes.
