Hello! First post here, but lurk often – I would post more but don't feel I'm drinking enough unique wines to contribute, trying to change that!
I have an odd question, and I apologize if it's not appropriate.
Last night I tried Dom for the first time Dom rose specifically. It was very tasty, but to be honest, not mind blowing. I was at a decent sized event, and was handed the glass, later finding the actual bottle.
Upon finding it I noticed it did not have the vintage on the front label. I thought this was odd, so I googled images of the 2009.
All photos I see appear to have the date on the front label, so it makes me ask – was the bottle fake? Ive uploaded two photos and would appreciate any input.
Thank you!
I apologize mods if this isn't allowed.

I’m not the right person to spot a fake from a lable.
But I can confirm that “not mind blowing” is exactly what one should expect from a bottle of Dom Rose.
That looks correct to me! They did a whole series with neon colored labels, so I assume this is just part of that.

I could be wrong but I think it’s the ‘luminous’ label?? Battery hidden in the punt, connected to the label. Cheesy and gimmicky…
every bottle of champagne does not have a year on the label, I’ll tell you why.
A regular bottle of champagne is a blend of wines from previous years, this year’s harvest etc., always changing the blend so they can maintain the same taste in the bottle year after year decade after decade. This is a non vintage release (NV) and has no harvest year on the label.
vintage bottles of champagne are made only with grapes harvested in that year. these bottles are marked with the year the fruit was harvested on the label.
EDIT: Yes, Dom only does vintage releases. in the first few minutes of this post there was confusion about vintage releases versus non-vintage. that’s what this comment is clearing up. // to address OP: it’s highly unlikely a bottle like that would be counterfeited, if you open a bottle worth thousands of dollars you should definitely look at it once twice and thrice.
Out of curiosity did you check the bottom of the bottle? Do you see how the front label tucks under the bottle, this looks to me like one of the luminous label versions that has a battery on the bottom
Looks to be [this bottle.](https://barmeister24.de/Dom-Perignon-Luminous-LED-Champagner-Flasche-075l-125-vol-Rose-2009)
Think it’s from the Luminous release a year or two ago. Look in the punt to see if there is a little button that, when pressed, will illuminate the label.
DP is kinda overrated, but theres a new chef de cave and the 2013 is stellar. But probably wouldnt buy it ever. The bottle is legit.
This is the label they use for collectors and night clubs.
I have a green one. Luminous series. Push button to turn it on. Gimmick for the vegas clubs to me. Juice was just fine.
I’ve had many vintages of Dom and none of them were even close to mind-blowing. Fwiw.
Dom is fairly trash. I wouldn’t expect big things going in.
Ooooh. The Halloween edition
Did you purchase this bottle? It could be a promotional bottle given to a restaurant, hotel or store for a display. I worked as a rep for years (not for Dom) and we had certain bottles that had specific labels for this use. Still legit juice but we would recommend it not be used for resale because it might not meet labeling laws.
