Homemade custard and angel food cake , a layer of whip cream and mixed berries. I mixed sherry & strawberry jam and dabbed the cake cubes. It was a hit!

Did you saute the beef with peas and onions?

that looks so good! I’ve always wanted to make trifle but it’s not something you can share with other people easily and our household isn’t great at consuming dessert. I wish I could have some! also, your home looks so cozy 🙂

Homemade custard? A layer of whipped cream instead of just on top? Sherry in the jam? Perfection! I’ll have a big bowl and a cuppa.

I love that the first three comments are all friends related. This looks delicious!

  7. It looks really good but I never understood how do you share it with others without messing it up completely.

It’s midnight and now all I can think about is eating 1/3 of this straight out of the trifle dish

  10. No Rachel, you were not supposed to put beef in the trifle. It did NOT taste good.

The comment section did not disappoint. It looks beautiful and not at all like it tastes like feet.

Trifles are underrated!!! I think the point of them is just cake, custard, whipped cream, and berries, layering them in a fancy glass bowl makes it fancy! I have been baking a lot of cakes recently because I am practicing for making my wedding cake. I always end up with cake scraps from trimming cakes, so I have been making trifles with the left overs. One time, I was making a jelly roll cake and it broke into smithereens when I tried to unroll it. So it became a cake scrap trifle! Served it at a party and no body knew it was a cake fail!
