Fresh fish is ok but Nothing better than a stinky fish.

That is the worst looking sashimi and presentation I have ever seen this has to be from the south or Midwest 😂

Probably toro. This presentation looks Midwest AF.

This plate looks like a Google animation

Toro. The best Tuna. Here in Hawaii the regular grocery stores stock it with the regular ahi sashimi around Thanksgiving and Christmas for $47/lb. Well worth the $10 for a few slices.

pictured is bluefin tuna, chu-toro cut.

most common cuts from the bluefin are: akami, chu-toro and o-toro

Looking like AYCE chutoro, especially if it wasn’t specified. Probably pretty good if thawed and cut right but based on the look of the plate I’d bet money you chewed through some ice crystals before your tongue had a chance to register anything resembling flavor or texture.

If you really wanted to know in a timely manner, you could just ask the server or the chef…

This looks like it’s a lucky cut of tuna that’s basically toro but based on other things about this dish, I feel like it’s not usually going to be toro, probably just regular tuna!

Is this like some buffet and op just stack the stuff up in an aesthetic fashion?
