Whether you’re hunting down the best version of a home-cooked meal or searching for general recipe inspiration, you don’t ever need to look any further than Ina Garten. The renowned chef and cookbook author, better known as the Barefoot Contessa, is the queen of the kitchen.
But Garten goes above and beyond providing recipes. She also answers seemingly endless questions from fans and home cooks through a section on her website called Ask Ina. Recently, one question about butter immediately caught our attention.
“On one of your Food Network shows, you mentioned that you buy your truffle butter online. Would you share where you purchase it?” asked one astute home cook. “I use Urbani or D’Artagnan white truffle butter,” Garten replied.
Naturally, we wasted no time checking out both brands. You see, we consider the queen of comfort food to be a butter connoisseur. When we learned of the French butter she uses on toast everyday, we immediately dropped everything to try it ourselves, and it was even better than we could’ve imagined. An Ina-approved truffle(!!!) butter? You know it’s gotta be amazing.

One of the Ina-recommended white truffle butters is from D’Artagnan, and can be delivered either fresh or frozen. At $25.99 for three 3-ounce tubs, it’s a little bit cheaper than the Urbani variety mentioned next. “Since I discovered this butter it has become a staple in my freezer and fridge,” wrote one D’Artagnan shopper.
Urbani’s white truffle butter, Garten’s other top pick, can be shipped anywhere in the contiguous 48 states. But, truffles aren’t cheap, and a tiny 3-ounce container is almost $13. If you love truffles, however, we imagine it’s well worth the price for special occasions.

“Though getting this expensive butter to my remote location is troublesome, this truffle butter is absolutely, richly delicious!” shared one enthusiastic Urbani shopper.
If it’s good enough for Ina Garten, it’s good enough for us. Give one or both a try ASAP — the possibilities of how to use white truffle butter in your kitchen are endless.
