    I first tried a chicken heart as a kid and thought it was like sausage. I won’t go out of my way to buy it but if someone was butchering a chicken and cooked the heart I’d eat it.

    Chicken hearts themselves are delicious. Eating them over lettuce is unappealing.

    I roast them over open flames with Szechuan seasoning, and is the best thing I ever tasted.

    The chicken heart is great, but I only ever cook and eat one at a time (along with the rest of the chicken). Did you buy a package of hearts separately?

    I guess it makes sense—plenty of chickens are butchered and sold without the heart, so I guess there’s plenty of excess that I wouldn’t want to go to waste.

    In Brazil we usually barbecue them. They get smokey, chewy but juicy to perfection. The highlight of any barbecue for sure

    I love them to bits but you have to clean them up properly before cooking much like other innards.

    My fav version is fried with a creamy sauce of sour cream and onions + mashed potatoes.

    i think this is an opinion that only comes from someone entirely detached from the food they eat

    i’m not a vegan, but i don’t believe in wasting animals lives for some hyper specific product and wasting the rest

    imo it’s only right to eat what’s edible and try to find a use for the rest

    why in the name of god’s green cock would we slaughter millions of chickens for their thighs and then throw away perfectly edible, highly nutritious, organ meat?
