Upon opening the tin, I found five perfect scale free fish with a rather thick coat of mustard. There was additional mustard underneath the fish too.
The sardines were excellent – neither dry, nor mushy with a satisfying medium texture. The fish held their shape. While the mustard sauce looks great, it’s rather weak in taste. I would describe it as a very mild yellow mustard.
I think Walmart produces a great $1 can of sardines. If you want a strong mustard flavor out of the can, you might be a little disappointed. However, these are still good enough for variety sake.

I personally prefer the Sardines in Oil myself, they go excellently with cheese on a piece of bread.

Yeah, theirs were surprisingly decent. And all I really ask of a budget sardine is that it not be mushy.

Great for a buck. The hot sauce ones are good too. I think Great Value brand are surprisingly solid

Interesting that they are labeled as a product of Thailand. I think perhaps for these really low price points, SEA can often deliver more value than Poland or Morocco.
