How much should I sell my macarons for by the dozen?

It varies by market. Research what they go for in your area. Calculate your costs. Pay yourself for your time. Make sure you’re legally allowed to sell based on the cottage food laws in your area.

  2. This will all depend on your local market and how you’re selling. Do you have a business? Are you making prior to orders, or making them by order?

For example, I only sell to friends and family and am not relying on the income. So for macarons that size, I charge a minimum of about $3 each, with a minimum order off 24 per flavor. So $75 is the smallest order. The price increases if they want a complicated filling like cheesecake (requiring me to also make a mini cheesecake) or something that requires both a curd and a jam in the filling. Or if they want a labor intensive decoration like a painted shape.

However they can pick any flavor they can imagine.

Anything less than $75 isn’t worth the 3-4 hours of my time. I’d rather they say nevermind I can’t afford that, then do it for less.

However, if you’re making them before you have a committed sale, you might have to be more competitive with your pricing. Travel around town and see what pricing looks like both out of professional kitchens, and from home bakers. Based on the picture you provided, they’re big enough and pretty enough to charge whatever the higher prices are. You’d be surprised at the itty bitty macarons sometime with ruffled spread feet coming out of some places. It’s not common, but it happens.

  3. I don’t know anything about pricing sorry, just had to comment to say they look fantastic!!

I am no professional at all and I still have air in my macs, but so many friends wanted me to throw mine out there (and the laws here in OK are SOOOO relaxed I was like f it why not) and I do 6 for $12 and 10-12 for $20 (sometimes I can only get 10 in my dozen boxes)

Again mine are only out there like this because I pay next to nothing for the spot I rent out ($25 monthly plus 10% commission), and any that doesn’t sell are bought for $1 each (no commission ofc) by one of the owners and she freeze dried them so I have little to no waste!

Sorry but if a spam, but I hope this helps!
