I'd like to buy a Chef Master 15000 btu to cook with a wok.
The website says to use only one specific canister (Chef Master 90340 BF-1010 Butane Fuel), the one from the same brand.
https://chef-master.com/product/15000-btu-butane-stove/
https://fryoilsaver.com/product/chef-master-90340-bf-1010-butane-fuel-pack-of-72-x-8oz-canisters/
(they say their canister "can be used with almost any butane power camping or portable stove" but to use only their canister for their portable stove)
Is there a specific reason other than the commercial one (I would have trouble buying that one)?
Does anyone use it with different canisters?

You can use any butane canister on any compatible stove. They are just trying to sell you more shit.
You can use any standard butane canister. Also a pro tip. Find your canisters locally. Asian grocers usually have them, along with hardware stores. Ones bought online are 3-4x as expensive.
FWIW, I watched a comparison of various butane stoves.
The winner was one that also ran on propane and had a separate fuel line
America’s Test Kitchen, on YouTube.
Some were also difficult to clean.
thanks for the answers, I agree with you about the compatibility with other brands…even if… I just got the manufacturer’s response (very fast, I wrote after writing on reddit), which is as follows…
.” Thank you for reaching out. Our Chef Master 15000 is only compatible for butane canisters BF-1010

I wonder if they have legal reasons to support this line
