A year after opening in St. Augustine, La Nouvelle has become a brunch destination in the Nation’s Oldest City.
And as Mother’s Day nears, online reservation platform OpenTable has named the fine-dining French Bistro in the heart of the city’s Lincolnville neighborhood to its list of Top 100 Brunch Restaurants for 2025.
The just-released unranked list is culled from over 10 million diner reviews and dining metrics, including ratings, five-star reviews, reservations and more during 2024.
Other Florida restaurants making OpenTable’s list include Latitudes Key West, FL on Sunset Key (Key West), MILA (Miami Beach), Sails Restaurant (Naples) and Ulele (Tampa).
In February 2024, Chef Michael Lugo debuted La Nouvelle, his third fine-dining restaurant in St. Augustine, after Michael’s (2006) and Pesca Vilano (2023).
Located in the historic, Victorian-era Jefferson House at 102 Bridge St., La Nouvelle brings Paris to Florida’s First Coast with its French Nouveau cuisine served in its dining room or outside on a wraparound porch or garden patio.
On the brunch and lunch menu, diners can choose from French Omelet, Quiche Loraine, Jambon Beurre Sandwich, Poulet Roti, Duck Confit and more.
Among the restaurant’s recent five-star reviews left by OpenTable diners:

We will be back and soon!” (Nancy, Jacksonville)“Excellent waiter, nice ambience on the porch, good drink, selection, enjoy the greyere cheese balls, the dirty Caesar salad and duck leg. A wonderful experience!” (George, Nashville)“Extraordinary French restaurant in an old wood frame Victorian era house in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood on the edge of St. Augustine’s historic district. The food and selection of offerings rivals the top French restaurants of my hometown, Washington, D.C. The wine selection was huge and excellent, rivaling any upscale French restaurant in major cities.” (Stephen, Washington, D.C.)“La Nouvelle Bistro is a hidden gem in the heart of St. Augustine, Florida. … The food is divine. … If you find yourself in St. Augustine, FL make sure to find your way into Lincolnville … You can thank me, later.” (Ryan, Oklahoma City)
