🥗 Turkish Ezme Salad
Ezme is a traditional Turkish salad that packs a spicy punch. Made with finely chopped veggies, lemon juice, and olive oil, it’s the perfect meze (appetizer) to serve with grilled dishes or warm pita.
🛒 Ingredients:
2 ripe tomatoes
1 red bell pepper (or long red pepper)
1 green chili or mild green pepper
1 small red onion
1 garlic clove
½ bunch parsley
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp pomegranate molasses (optional but authentic)
2 tbsp olive oil
Juice of ½ lemon
½ tsp sumac (optional)
Salt & pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes (pul biber) to taste
🔪 Instructions:
Finely chop the tomatoes, peppers, onion, garlic, and parsley (or use a food processor for a finer texture).
In a mixing bowl, combine all chopped veggies.
Add tomato paste, pomegranate molasses, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, sumac, and red pepper flakes.
Mix everything thoroughly until the salad is juicy and well combined.
Let it rest for 15–20 minutes before serving for best flavor.
