What happened to my kimchi?! I’ve been making it for a while and this is the first time it’s come out like this… it’s been sitting in the fridge fermenting.

    Not sure what happened But if you’ve been making it before; maybe some of the ingredients you used were spoiled?

  2. I also want to add it doesn’t smell rotten/stinky. It smells like normal kimchi.

    Hmmm this looks a bit like oxidation to me? No moldy or off smell? Is it possible the container wasn’t closed entirely?

    It’s the pepper powder that’s gone wrong. Did you keep your gochugaru at room temperature? If it’s not fresh, it turns like this.
