I’m pretty sure I invented this lol

Pop any container on a food scale without lid

Re-zero

Scoop or pour out what you need

Set container back on food scale

Track negative grams

I love this truck for nut butters, olive oil, butter, anything out of a jar for accuracy! Bonus: You can lick the spoon/knife with reckless abandon!

Here is me using a napkin to pour & measure my peanut butter on to and then transferring this to the bowl…

i do this for those olive oil spray bottles— so humbling to see how a quick spray really does add up

  3. You can do the same method to weigh your poop, which is way cleaner than doing it the other way.

    Mind blown.

    I don’t do this.

Thank you for making my day.

Let me live in peaceful ignorance of a “tablespoon” serving size

I use this all the time! It’s easy, quick, and saves dishes 🙂

maybe thats why you guys love peanut butter so much i always found it a pain to track so i just never bothered

Oh wow, never thought of this! What I always do is weigh the jar first, spread the amount I want, then weigh again and subtract. I’ve got a little marker board on my fridge and do a lottt of math, haha.

or put all the liquids in first and continue to zero it

i do this when i’m eating directly from a dish with multiple servings

I am flabbergasted by the amount of people who didn’t know this, this is how I measure almost everything haha, so much easier for a large portion of food

I’m new to calorie counting so this is a helpful tip I hadn’t thought of!

I feel like if you are counting calories you should know exactly how much of an ingredient you want to add to your meal beforehand. And if you are trying to hit a certain calorie/weight target, reverse weighing doesn’t really make sense.

  14. This is extremely common way of weighing, not only food, but congrats on finding it out 😂

Even better put your blender on the scale and zero it out after each ingredient is added. No accidentally putting too much. No go back and forth to guess how much you have taken.
