MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Wine, food, music and a sunset over the bayou—all in support of a good cause. The University of Louisiana Monroe welcomed guests Thursday evening for the 18th annual Wine Over Water fundraiser.
The event brought together community members for live music, local cuisine and fine wines—all while raising funds for the ULM Alumni Association.
“The turnout is a great turnout tonight—it’s pretty busy inside, shoulder to shoulder,” an event organizer said. “We were anticipating more people with it being outside, but with the weather changes we had to take caution. Still, it’s a great turnout. This is a huge fundraiser for the Alumni Association.” said President Maggie Generoso.
More than 30 local restaurants and vendors served up savory sliders, sweet treats and signature cocktails.
Proceeds from the event go toward scholarships, student programs and alumni engagement efforts.
Despite a last-minute move indoors due to weather, organizers say the evening was a success.
