This is my first year planting anything, let alone peppers. I bought this Thai pepper plant from walmart a couple of weeks ago and after hardening it off a bit after being inside due to a cold snap, I transplanted it yesterday into some potting soil and compost. I gave it a good watering like my research said to do after transplanting. This grayish discoloration appeared this afternoon when I checked on them. Any idea of what might be the problem?

I would imagine it’s transplant shock. It should bounce back. All of my plants wilt after transplanting.
How long did you harden it off for with direct sunlight? That looks like sunburn to me
