A relatively new flavour from Sainsbury’s. Cost me £.120 ($1.50). Score 8/10.
After trying this I am surprised that Teriyaki sauce isn’t more common worldwide as an accompaniment to tinned fish. Mackerel works really well with the strong savoury and sweet flavour. It also feels a lot less greasy and fishy than standard olive oil.
Its not perfect. It’s a bit too salty on its own, but on bread it’s fine. Also it’s a cheap can so the quality of fish and sauce was never going to be outstanding, but I will definitely be buying this can again. Yum yum

I don’t know how new it is, I’ve been getting it for a few years.
I have never found a tin of Teriyaki sauce fish that I liked – probably because teriyaki sauce is so easy to make I only like fresh homemade.
I’ve posted the recipe from an amazing cookbook that has been out of print for 30 years. It’s my go-to teriyaki sauce. Takes 5 minutes to make and will open your eyes to what teriyaki sauce SHOULD be:
