Stuffed Crust Cast-Iron Skillet Deep Dish Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:
• 1 pre-rolled store-bought pizza dough (room temperature)
• 1–1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
• 6–8 string cheese sticks or mozzarella sticks (for stuffing the crust)
• 1/2 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
• 1/4 cup sliced black olives
• 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (fresh or canned, drained)
• 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onions
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 1/4 tsp each-Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt (optional, for extra flavor)

Butter Mix:
• 3 tbsp butter, melted sauce
• 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
• dash of salt
• 1/2 tsp dried parsley flakes

Instructions:
1. Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 550°F. Brush your seasoned cast-iron skillet with olive oil.
2. The Dough
Gently lay pre-rolled pizza dough into the skillet, letting the edges hang over the sides.
3. Stuff the Crust
Line the edge of the dough with mozzarella sticks. Fold the dough over them and pinch to seal, tucking the cheese in to create that stuffed crust goodness.
4. Assemble the Pizza
Spread pizza sauce evenly in the center. Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder and salt. Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded mozzarella on top. Add black olives, mushrooms, red onions and Parmesan cheese.
5. Bake It Up
Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 15 to 18 (my oven 550 for 15 minutes) minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
6. Butter mix
Once removed from oven, brush butter mix on crust.
7. Cool & Slice
Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy every cheesy, savory bite!
