Accidentally left the grill brush in my gas Weber grill while heating up on high for about 35 minutes. Is the BBQ completely damaged?

I’d considered storing mine there with my new Weber as it didn’t have the holder my previous had, but I knew I would do this. So I have a thick baggy I pull over the brush head, drop a rubber-band around it and store it below.
I’m sure it’s fine. Just needs cleaned a bit and run once after to not get bits on the next food you grill.

in your position i’d pull the burners out and pressure wash the snot out of it. that’s not going to be a good kind of smokey flavour. you might have to run it on high afterwards but apart from the plasticy smell i’d be surprised if there’s any lasting damage

You’re Weber will be fine as long as you clean off the loose bits. The firebox is powder coated aluminum and it got hot enough to flake it off the outside. But it’s the outside so it won’t affect the cook.
It does look like the heat weakened the support for the grease tray. You should clean and fix that.
