Tagged it as nsfw because the image is kinda gnarly, but I work in a Walmart deli and we constantly cook rotisserie chickens. These are from Tyson, and while the rest of the chickens in the box were fine, this one had these hard lumps on it. It looks like a tumor to me, and it smelled different than all of the other ones. I didn’t cook it, just threw it away because I don’t really want anyone to eat it. Generally, the shape of the chicken is super gnarled and squished together, more than a chicken normally would be if it was jammed into the corner of the box. What do you think? is up with it?

It’s tongue is sticking out. I would never eat a chicken that sassy.

Looks water logged and it’s a combo of seasoning, water and fat.

When it doubt it’s better to be safe.

Screw everything that’s not raised cleanly on a pasture.

That’s all I have to say. Have a good one.

Well, expect to see a lot more strange looking chicken now that the Agencies in charge of inspections are being gutted and deregulated.

Maybe it’s fat, cut it off and see what the meat looks like underneath. It’s probably not good. I hope trash day is soon.

The crap all over it looks like the crop (sack for grain in the throat) has burst. Sometimes they don’t get properly removed and go everywhere when processing.

  7. The chicken visited Chernobyl before getting sent to the packing plant.

It seems to have a malformed spine. I have had meat birds with a very crooked spine , either a horizontal s curve or a vertical “A” frame shape that were otherwise healthy and able to mature. It could have been injured as a chick. The yellow stuff on the breast looks like fat to me although chickens form a sort of firm yellow “rubber” around internal injuries so it might have just had a very rough life
