Burgers are so cheap and easy to make on my cast iron that I can’t justify paying the fast food price anymore.
This is a smash burger that needs to be smashed a little more but still delicious. Just get the cheapest hamburger you can find. Feed 6 people for 20$

It needs more than just a little smashing🤭 but I certainly agree with you in regards to the cost of going out to have one. I keep telling myself to just go because sometimes it’s easier and each time I end up making them at home. While the tubes of burger seem wrong, I love that the meat is 73/27. Some are anyway. I can deal with the shrinkage and still have a flavorful, juicy burger cooked properly. Meaning not medium rare, for food safety.

It’s nice to see a double cheeseburger that actually has some weight of meat in it. If Smashburgers are your thing, more power to you. But it’s great to see something like this that doesn’t look like the burgers were stepped on. Brilliantly done. Thanks for sharing your burgers with us.

Not a smash burger. But this would start at $10 for the bad fast food places, and just go up from there. Screw fast food, if more people cooked at home (or went to normal restaurants, same price or less), they’d be gone tomorrow.

I have failed twice trying to make a smash burger. Definitely takes some skill or something

The next step, at least if you’re trying to replace the more dressed burgers, is to step up your game regarding additions. Shrettuce with a bit of mayo and S&P, grilled onions, mac sauce, etc. I know not everyone wants a burger with condiments, but I like em, especially to give my burgers some variance

Yeah, my cost for an amazing double Oklahoma fried-onion smashed cheeseburger is bout $3.
Though I’m not including the time put in (shopping, prep, cooking (the easiest, funnest part) and clean up). Honestly, going to restaurants isn’t even about the food anymore, it’s about not having to clean up.
