Are these different to peppers? or can I remove the dome as soon as they first seeds have sprouted? or leave it on but open the air vents? Thanks.

Dome off once most have germinated. Tomatos will β€œdamp off” if in moist air. The stems wilt.

I take mine off. But this depends a lot on the ambient temperature and humidity where you have your plants set up. One thing you don’t want is waterlogged seedlings, and I tend to be a little overly cautious of that. But I’d say you should at least open the vents, or even prop the dome open a bit. Best of luck!

  3. I remove my domes when 50% of all seeds have germinated. If you are using bottom heat, I would remove that as well.

Take it off once more than a few have germinated. I usually wind up with a day or two where the dome is off and I’m just using bottom heat. Eventually it’ll feel like the germination has momentum and you can put away the heat mat, too. I generally let them get to about 2″ tall before transplanting.

Depends. I leave mine on till the first true leaves start to emerge.

I have a similar setup. Remove once germinated and move the light down closer has been working like a charm.
