And check the lump charcoal for rocks, metal, and cured wood.

  2. TechnicalDecision160

I hate Royal Oak. Always seems half the bag is broken up into little pieces.

  3. reverse_blumpkin_420

Isn’t royal oak lump where we get all the pictures of people getting nails and shopping cart tires and shit?

  4. Forward_Edge_8915

You might be lucky to get 10lbs of useable charcoal outta that bag. Pretty shitty deal if you ask me.

  5. BBQdude65

I used to use it ALL the time. Now I have changed it up.

  6. trailrunner79

They have it in Arkansas also but I’m not a fan of Royal oak.

  7. I don’t like smoking with pressure treated lumber, thanks…

  8. Daddysaurusflex

I love all the bolts and random strips of metal

  9. DarePotential8296

Sam’s Club had Kingsford 40 pounds for $20.

  10. bobafeeet

I’d rather get the 20 pound B&B at HEB for $16. Way better deal– more huge pieces, less fucking nails and shit.

  11. smokedcatfish

HEB sells better lump charcoal for less $/lb every day.

If all these claims are true, then why hasn’t this company been buried yet? I’d be absolutely pissed with foreign objects in my food (prep material).

  13. Yea I don’t want junk and charcoal. I just want charcoal. To each their own tho. My go to is jealous devil.

  14. Nuggies85

This is a shit post. Don’t buy that garbage.

  15. Don’t do it. RO lump sucks. Their briquettes are fine for grilling though. I wouldn’t smoke with them though. B&B or Kingsford Pro are what I use for smoking in my WSM.

  16. That extra 10# is so they can pass the junk to you so they dont have to pay for junk disposal

  17. Walked right by this stuff just yesterday. I have plenty of construction waste around the house if I ever want to grill with. No need to pay them for it.

  18. No_Customer_5452

And at Walmart in GA, 17 bucks, but they can keep it. B&B ot cowboy for me.

  19. TallBenWyatt_13

I wouldn’t use that garbage in a bonfire!

  20. Gaben2988

If you’re in Texas B&B charcoal is way better.

  21. Chance_Fishing_9681

I saw these being stacked at local store (not Costco ), each bag was slammed on to the one under it

Nothing but bags of coal dust

  22. Numerous-Ad2571

LOL at Royal Oak’s reputation. I’m waiting for the day that they print in bold letters on the packaging “No Rocks, Bolts, or Metal…Guaranteed 100%”

They gotta be aware of everyone talking about it

  23. Blasket_Basket

Don’t buy this garbage. Given the amount of construction waste that ends up in these bags, this seems like a great way to add asbestos to your brisket

  24. MetalSubstantial297

Last time I bought a bag, there was still a 2×4 in it that didn’t turn into charcoal.

  25. brandrikr

That stuff is absolute trash, scrap from the bottom of burn pit.

  26. ProfessionalWaltz784

Is this a better deal or better than Kingsford?

  27. Separate_Ad_5662

Better than cowboy which is what they had before.

  28. CocconutMonkey

I’m good w/ the B&B lumps from Ace around the corner. Nary a problem
