I’ve seen congee posted a few times on here and have been wanting to try it and ladies I’m hooked. This is my giant soup bowl and this 230 calorie portion filled over half. And let me tell you I am STUFFED. And for less than a dollar a serving? In this economy?!

I used 1/4 rice and 2 cups water. Added the bouillon paste, dehydrated onion, and a little chili powder and simmered for an hour. Topped it with green onion, jalapeños, turkey kielbasa, and siracha and it was ready to eat!

I would recommend using chicken if you make this to bring up the protein, I’m due for a grocery run and only had a little bit of sausage left so this version only has 7g. Most recipes also call for ginger and garlic which would really bring this to the next level too
