What’s your favorite kimchi jjigae? Mine is with tuna.

    Have you tried canned mackerel? It’s delish ~ especially with the ponytail kimchee

  2. I also like tuna but I drain as much of the oil out for a cleaner soup.

    I love getting a rotisserie chicken and just shredding it into kimchi jjigae. I’ve also bought carnitas or Puerto Rican lechón because I’m a fan of the shredded meat texture in general.

    I’m not a fan of tuna in mine. I find that the tuna disintegrates into a kind of slush at the bottom of the pot. I like clams or mussels in mine or just keep it vegetarian with tofu. I’ve tried using pork belly but I usually precook the pork belly and add it once the kimchi jjigae is nearly cooked.
