I randomly came across the website of this manufacturer when looking for gift ideas a couple weeks back. They offer a very wide selection of meat products most of which i have never come across before. I was fascinated by the range of products and when i saw that they had a section for canned fish i knew i had to place an order.

There are 3 different cans that were available when i placed my order ( i checked the store today and noticed they offer even more now). The blue label can is carp in cold pressed rapeseed oil and thyme. The orange label can is salmon trout in cold pressed rapeseed oil whit lemon and the green label can is arctic char in cold pressed rapeseed oil and basil.

What is really interesting to me is that all of these are sweet water fish from lakes in Austria. Usually canned seafood seems to be almost exclusively sourced from salt water. Additionally i had to order three cans of canned meats that i haven’t seen like this before. I included a picture of these as well (hope they are allowed on this sub) I am very much looking forward of trying all of these.

Darf man fragen was die Dosen gekostet haben, und viel mehr noch, haben sie gemundet?! Der Saibling und der Karpfen würden mich echt interessieren. Guten Hunger!

  2. Report straight back when you pop each tin. Pics included. Best

It wasn’t really the point of your comment, but TIL that many languages use “sweet water” rather than “fresh water”. It makes sense as a juxtaposition to salt water. Neat.

Agreed with the others. I’m quite intrigued. Pics after opening would be appreciated.
