Those are so filled with preservatives that you’ll have no issue. Let them thaw and go ahead and cook.

*at least I’ve cooked those exact brand sausages well past best use date.*

    FROM THE WEB…
“Sausage Storage ChartIf the sausage has a “Sell-By” date, or no date, store it for the times recommended below. Freeze sausage if you can’t use it within the times recommended for refrigerator storage. Once frozen it doesn’t matter if the date expires because **foods kept frozen continuously are safe indefinitely**.”

Still safe to eat? Yes, when thawed and cooked properly.
Will it be good? Let us know!!!

I would feed that to chickens. Right after I’d boil it.

That’s my opinion. To each his own.

Id eat if it was all i had. Other than that. Id probably feed it to my neighbors barking annoying Chihuahuas

  5. hippiec123

It contains protein and won’t hurt you… eat it

  6. Logical_Warthog5212

I’ve done it before. What’s more important is that it has been frozen the entire time and you didn’t have any refrigeration issues. If it’s bad, you can smell it once you thaw it to cook.

    Nope. Toss it.

Store wrapping is for short term only. IF it was wrapped better it’s very possible to go 2 years or longer. I’ve got a few T-bone steaks and chicken 2 years old and they’re still good. Take out of store package and rewrap in a good plastic wrap and then put in a good Ziploc style freezer bag or wrap in aluminum foil. Get as much air out as possible, air allows moisture to escape and that causes freezer burn. I rewrap all my meats like this except hot dogs that are still in factory package. But those get wrapped in foil too. Works as good as vacuum packing but is cheaper. Use a sharpie to write what it is and the date you got it on the package. Helps when you restock, new in the back/bottom, old to the front/top.

Anything that’s frozen and not thawed is good forever

  9. dontrestonyour

safe, yes, but probably won’t taste great. might have some weird texture. but if I was hungry and broke I’d go for it.

  10. SnootchieBootichies

Freezer burn is a real thing. Ain’t gonna kill you but probably gonna taste iffy

  11. chuckychez

Probably not and definitely not worth the risk. 💯 Toss it out

  12. What’s cheaper? New Sausage vs Visit to the ER and/or wanting to die for a quick few hours?

  13. Spiritual-Pianist386

Everyone who’s telling you to toss it is wrong. As long as it’s been frozen the whole time and you cook it to 160 F there’s zero risk of food borne illness.

  14. -random-name-

Should still be able to get enough usable DNA to bring it back from extinction.

  15. LazyOldCat

Yep. Puta little char on there and you won’t even notice if it’s ‘freezery’. Still supporting trump tho, enjoy with caution.

  16. fuckmethree

Idk if this matters but I was just going to grill them

  17. Rush_Is_Right

I smoked a leg of lamb that had been in my grandma’s freezer for 14 years and it’s the best lamb I’ve ever had. You’ll be absolutely fine u/fuckmethree.

  18. RicardoPanini

Yeah it’s fine but almost guaranteed freezer burnt because that package is not ideal for deep freeze

  19. Gourmetanniemack

Sauté it down, drain and add to spaghetti sauce.

  20. AnonAnontheAnony

just give it a nice thorough smell test before you decide to eat it.

has never failed me yet and I’ve eaten some 3 to 5-year-old frozen shit.

  21. Say-What-77

They ate a 20,000 year old mammoth that was frozen. I think you’re safe

  22. redditsuckshardnowtf

They were probably never good for a few reasons.

  23. Check to see if they were ever recalled. Swear i hear recall reports for Johnsonville all the time. More room for errors with how much they produce.

  24. Jealous_Airline_919

Make sure you thaw first. Then simmer in beer. Then Grill. They might not taste as good as fresh so douse them with white horseradish.
