Very simple 20-30 minute chocolate cake without eggs. I've baked this one ever since I discovered baking. It is my "quick dessert" to make that everyone likes. It has no special name other than "Chocolate cake without eggs".

I tried making a mudcake, but it just turned into brownies.

    What’s your recipe?!

  3. Dang, if it was any darker, you’d have to contact NASA. Looks tasty.

Looks like it is similar to Moosewood’s six-minute chocolate cake or depression cake (since it didn’t need eggs, butter or milk.) using a small amount of black cocoa powder mixed with the other cocoa powder would give that nice dark color.

The old CCWOE. Looks great. I could have been making this back in the day when eggs were a dollar each.

  6. Here’s the recipe:

    ## Base

    720g yogurt (3 cups)

    270g flour (2 cups)

    150g granulated sugar (¾ cup)

    150ml oil (⅔ cup)

50g cocoa (½ cup or 10g more for darker cake)

    2 tsp baking soda

    ## For the glaze:

    Butter (about 100g; 1/2 cup)

    Dark chocolate, broken into pieces

Sugar, to taste (I add a bit more, because the base is rather more cocoa, less sweet)

    Milk (to achieve desired consistency)

    ***

    – mix yogurt, flour, sugar, oil, cocoa, and baking soda for 2-3 minutes.
    – take a 20×30 cm (about 8×12″) baking pan, bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for about 20 minutes. For more moist, bake 3-4 minutes less.

    – Glaze: warm the butter, remove from heat, add the chocolate pieces, sugar, and milk, and stir until you get a smooth mixture.

Let the cake cool and then pour the chocolate glaze over it. I
Serve the cake with whipped cream, and in season, you can also serve it with berries of your choice.
