So i boiled some rice in water, fried the chicken then set it aside. Put 2 jars of tomato and chilly sauce in the pan i fried rhe chicken in, put in carrots simmered for 10 minutes, then added 2 peppers, 3 tomatoes and a pack of mushrooms, cooked for a few mins, then added chicken back to sause, cooked for a few mins, then I added all the rice, mixed it up and portioned it. Used salt and some hot chilly as spices. I put 4 containers in the fridge and 2 in the freezer. Thanks to all who gave me advice last week ♥️💪

Good work👏🏼 to answer your “why isn’t everyone doing this?” It’s because they claim they can’t eat the same thing multiple days a week or don’t like left overs. I’d rather do this + dishes once a week than every single night so I’ll eat the same thing 5 nights a week🤷🏻♀️
Eyo i remember the other post. This looks delicious, well do e mate. I remember reading something about I rececooker on the other post not sure about the context annymore but I love my rice cooker it’s so simple and makes perfect rice every time. Strongly recommend one, I just plop in enought rice for the week and leave it to do its thing while I prep everything else
I implore you to stop using a wooden cutting board. I also suggest a second cutting board designated for raw chicken. I can talk about a third board if you are interested. Making food for yourself is wonderful, giving yourself food poisoning is not.
I like to do it day by day
Too many choices. But fresh cook food taste better normally.
Speaking as someone with /r/GERD, because of about half the ingredients you listed lol.
Hey! Good job getting more veggies in there! Looks like you stretched it to 6 portions this time rather than the 4 last time- don’t know if it’s the addition of more veggies or just a coincidence that you made more, but looks great!
Nice
I get overwhelemed with all the choices that are out there. Because of this, I usually do one or two meals
What was the best advice you got? I do a modified one – 3 new meals per week & we eat each one twice. I overlap ingredients and still do most of the prep right after I shop.
Nice! Good job.
Answer to your rhetorical question is: Time and energy. Like many people I love doing everything myself. Mowing the lawn, building a new vertical garden, repairing a valve, etc. etc. etc. In a typical day I cook for my family, myself, dogs, typical household chores, go to the gym, go shopping, and all while working… so on and so forth. Adding another 1-2 hours in for meal prepping is just a matter of logistics for myself.
Because I hate eating the same soggy shit 5 days in a row is the literal answer, I prep and freeze and mix and match.
And also like fresh things.
well done, looks delish! we don’t do fast food or meal delivery at all. i cook 2 main dishes and roast 2 veggies every other weekend and portion it into single serve pyrex so it can go straight from the freezer to the microwave. the hubs like the insta pot and currently our favs are turkey chili, chicken soup, bacon cheddar cauliflower soup, and spaghetti sauce. i pre-cook the noodles (we like them firmer and don’t mix the noodles with the food prior to freezing. 2 minutes in the nuker and they are perfectly thawed and ready to pair). add in salads and fruit during the week and it makes life so much easier and healthier.
i love meal prepping but i also find it difficult to be consistent with it every week. i get burned out trying to think of recipes and how that will mesh with my mood for the week. just gets exhausting with the planning aspect of it when i got tons of other crap to think about.
I like to have fresh meals. That’s why don’t do that. That’s gross to me
This is great! I try to meal prep my lunches, and honestly it’s been the best thing ever. I will make 4 burgers and create sandwiches and wrap well in foil. I’m happy to eat a burger for lunch. They last for 4 days in the refrigerator so 1 lb gets me mostly through my work week. I also have learned to make meal 1 hefty, then save leftover Meal 2 hefty and save leftover. So on Meal Day 3 I’m eating leftovers from Meal 1 and on Meal Day 4 I’m eating leftovers from Meal day 2. I cook twice and eat four times. Leaving fridays night for Soup, Saturday night for Fending for yourself, scrap day and then Sunday for something crock potty while I prep. I have to get better and truly inspired by your pictures, these look so yummy.
