Was recommended to me by many to try the "Hot" wings at a local place by me near Harrisburg, Pa.
(I will not name drop for the sake of local business support). But damn… How incredibly disappointed I was with these wings. I was told these things slapped. Looked legit, then I tasted… Zip on flavor, no heat, just greasy. Best rating I can give is a 6.5 out of 10. Moving on 🫤

Do they give more ranch/blue cheese without charging? Because that just doesn’t look like enough. Also looks may be deceiving but they don’t even LOOK like they would taste like much of anything. Sorry to hear it was a letdown, here’s to hoping that your next batch is as bomb as you were expecting.

Bummer, cuz they look good if a little on the mild side. Maybe a touch skinny too, but I don’t mind that if they aren’t overdone.

  3. A 6.5 on my scale is still pretty good. That’s in the territory of “how much did you pay for them?” A 6.5 (flavor/meat on the bones) can be offset by the price. Looks like a dozen? So anything beyond $15 (still too high but that’s just the way it is these days) the rating would tank.

So decent wings, crap sauce? If so I’d try again.

    Sierra Madre?

If so imo you can totally blast that place, they are inconsistent and worst of all allow smoking inside.

Idk if you’re from the area of not, but some other solid spots near this.

I feel you. I was told to try the wings at a local pub one time and when the bleu cheese was served in a plastic package with a peel off lid like a sauce for nuggets at McDonald’s, my heart sank.

No place with cheap, shitty dressings has ever wowed me with their chicken wings. All the best places make their dips in house.

The wings were small, dry and old tasting on the inside, tough on the outside…with a watery buffalo sauce that didn’t even stick to the wings just absorbed into the paper at the bottom of the basket. They had absolutely no flavor, no heat, just the taste of old, dry chicken from a deep fryer that was most likely frozen before it went in.

I should’ve stopped then and left but I came to try the menu and decided to order a meal. I can’t even remember what I ordered at this point it was just so bland and unremarkable.

It’s a shame too because the building it’s in downtown is like 150 years old and looks really cool inside but unless you’re there to get hammered drunk, the food will disappoint.

I’m big into wings and these just look sad, there is always the next place to try.

If “zip on flavour, no heat, just grease” is a 6.5, wtf is a 1? An actual cyanide pill? Weird scale.

Those actually look great so shame they weren’t good.

You called it right. “Can’t always be a winner.” Sometimes wings are amazing. Sometimes they suck.

Ooooh I’m from Harrisburg. Where are these from, I guess give a hint? That plate and bar top looks really familiar. I should add try out Mad Moose downtown and ask for them crispy. I miss River City wings tho…

Sad when that happens, but mediocrity abounds. When you find a consistently good spot, it’s even more remarkable…so keep fighting the good fight 🤘
