Ribbon sliced or thick sliced? Beer batter or breaded? Or that weird pseudo-ring of onion bits at Burger King? Or (and this is cheating, but whatever) onion blossom?

Thin sliced beer battered for me, those crumbling little shoestring style fried just right with some ranch to dip in.

(Image is calamari so as not to tip the scales)

(shit I'm gonna get banned for that pic aren't I?)

Honestly the bloomin onion from outback might take the cake for me

  3. Did you know you can literally just fry the onion in with the calamari? Fucking Fritto misto that shizz

YES! Is that an appropriate answer? That is my stated preference in all mentioned categories. I do have different condiment preferences based on these details, but I appreciate them all.

My strongest feeling is on the nomenclature for the “weird pseudo-ring of onion bits at Burger King”: ply-onion rings. Like plywood, except ply-onion. Also delicious.

  5. Gave you a like then took it back once my tired ass realized it was calamari. Then saw your description saying it was Calamari and just using it for comparison and gave ya the like back lol. Honestly tho….millions of pics of onion rings to choose from before using this Pic. That all being said I prefer onion rings with the lightest of batters where you can still see the onion…..but will eat any and all onion rings!!

Shoestring. Battered. I think they’re called onion frizzles some places. Or haystack? With some kind of spicy creamy condiment for dippins.
