I tried to make traditional Dutch apple pie, but the first 2 attempts were completely wrong due to using the wrong measurements + the video recipe was incomplete. The results were all over the place, plus the pie was soggy at the bottom and almost looked uncooked. Then, at attempt 3, I finally got a better version with a different baking video instruction! I'm okay with it for now, but I really want to test out a bigger size of this.

I added a personal flair to it by braiding the ring. It took me a while to understand the idea of cold kneading and shaping and I will make a 4th attempt in the near future to fully explore what I've learned! I used elstar apples for this

    Looks good!
    My tips for you to experiment with:
    * add some lemon zest to your apple mix
    * add some breadcrumbs (paneermeel) before adding the apple mixture to prevent a soggy bottom
    * crumble some almond paste (amandelspijs) through the mix

    Thank you very much for the nice comments

    I will write down how I used it in my version :)[ ***These are the instructions (In Dutch)*** ](https://youtu.be/5ZfXB6xy-PA?si=z8hgg1nimc5q0Uiq)and below are the tools, ingredients, and instructions written out! Took me a while, but I hope it’s what you can use!

    TOOLS:

    * Ø 7 inch springform pan
    * Pastry brush
    * Rolling pin
    * Set triangle (or ruler)
    * Long sharp knife
    * Peeling knife
    * Sieve
    * Cutting board
    * Mixing bowl + smaller bowls
    * Aluminum foil
    * Cling foil
    * Simple wooden skewers
    * Oven at 170 to 180 degrees Celsius
    * Ingredients – Dough:
    * 200 grams cold butter (almost right out of the fridge)
    * 400 grams patent flour (I believe all-purpose-flour is fine too, but I used patent flour for this)
    * 50 to 100 grams (or any extra grams) of flour to use for rolling the dough in the end
    * 160 grams white caster sugar
    * 2 medium eggs to add to the flour
    * 1 medium egg for the egg wash RIGHT before you put it in the oven
    * Custard powder, or bread crumbs (VERY, VERY, VERY important for keeping the pie dry. Custard powder is tastier though)
