Fries could be better…but that steak is awesome! I’d destroy that.

Fancy butter. I don’t really like very pink steak. I’m more of a medium well to well done girl but you did great.

with all those fancy ingredients, you’d think you could afford a bigger plate

Being from the same district of Essex, UK where that sea salt comes from always makes me laugh when I see it randomly online

Waste of Maldon salt. Just use regular salt.

Looks great you cooked it fantastically. However for that price and it being labeled as hybrid Wagyu it should have definitely been more marbled than that

Looks great! Just FYI Maldon sea salt is more of a finishing salt than a salt to use when cooking. At least that’s what I’ve always been told.

Overpaid for that steak big time, but the finished product is (borat voice) very niiice.

You managed to create an incredible crust without using black pepper, it actually looks amazing but I’d love to see what it’d look like with black pepper.

Jesus wept! $49.99 a pound is nuts.

I used to spend about that much when I’d get beef from Salt & Thyme, though

Smoke em if you got em!

Steak looks good. I’d personally like a bit more maillard, but it’s cooked exactly where I like it.

The fries look like they were slow fried in grease for a day, and are now just sticks of grease. Not appetizing at all. So shiny!

I also don’t love fries with steak anyway. Give me a baked or mashed potato, I’m in.

All in all, I think you did well and I would eat this, even your grease sticks.

So, I’m no professional, but I like to sear steaks in peanut oil or grapeseed oil. Higher smoking point. You can get the pan a bit hotter and get a better sear. Olive oil has a low smoking point. Looks great, though.

  13. Looks like central market or whoever got you on the steak pricing but that is cooked perfectly forreal bet it tasted amazing

That kind of salt is generally a finishing salt. You sprinkle it on after plating, it’s not really for seasoning before cooking.

It’s wild to me that you make fancy steak with French Fries. That’s side of broccolini territory for me my dude.

  16. Would have liked a shot with the cooked steak as the focal point. Seems focused on fries, but looks great.
