Highly recommend you listen to the audio, that way you can truly experience the pain.

I would’ve clocked out and let the night crew deal with it. 😂

(I know they may be a home baker and that there’s no night crew. That’s the joke.)

  2. ILoveBeagles17

At first I thought they were trying to make pasta from scratch but then I realized that it was butter and now I have no clue what the goal was lol

  3. Old_Ben24

I was making lemon bars last week, and was putting the pan in the oven when I saw the egg yolks in a bowl next to me. I thought the color looked off . . .

  4. StaticCloud

I’m always terrified of screwing up a recipe because mistakes are financially so costly. I will read a specific instruction or measurement 3 times out of panic. I wish butter wasn’t $6 a brick or nuts $5-10 per recipe but here we are

My former boss with like 30 years of experience once forgot to add yeast to a batch of like 60kgs.
She realized it after shaping all the loafs. She did a smaller batch with yeast and reused some of the loafs in it. Rest was saved for later batches.

All whilst I was on the other side of the table making cookies and doing my best impression of someone not laughing.

Looks like that table needs to be leveled properly! If it doesn’t have adjustable legs, you could use felt pads to level it out.

  7. They are wearing a ring, so they have just started to learn. Give them time 🙂

  8. Nurse_Hatchet

I so admire your composure! The amount of violent swearing that would have been on my version of this would have blistered a sailor’s ears!

  9. SwallowstoneStories

The first time I ever made pasta from scratch this is exactly what happened to me. It was a MESS. I’ve made it since then, but now I just use a bowl. I’m too scared to

  10. Due-Tear9585

the final atempt to save it making everything flood was so defeating 😂😂

  11. SleepDeprived142

You bake with your ring on? Isn’t that a huge hassle to clean?

  12. toadthewet

I needed to see this today, having just doubled a cornbread recipe, aside from the flour which I quadrupled. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  13. Is that the sound of melted butter and water hitting the floor?

  14. redditdontlikejokes

Use a bowl the traditional way has no benefit vs the modern way

  15. Kep1ersTelescope

This made me wince in sympathy and softly mutter “noooooo” under my breath. 10/10 cinematography and sound design.

  16. Suspicious-Eagle-828

While I feel your pain, I will admit – I’m sitting here howling with laughter.

  17. Footsyfox

As someone who has made many doughs from flour wells like this one, I’ve learned that it helps to make two wells- a smaller one inside the big circle that is entirely disconnected and a larger one like in the video. Slowly add your liquid into that smaller circle, incorporate it, then make a circle in THAT tacky, wet dough and finish adding your liquid, slowly taking in the flour from the edges

  18. I can never understand the concept of well method, like, they invented bowels for a reason.

  19. arpohatesyou

I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this: now we both have buttery hands let’s go wash em

  20. Eighty_fine99

I once put a cake in the oven without sugar. Total Accident.

  21. Estrellathestarfish

There’s something so revolting about the tipping and spilling liquid sounds that really adds to the horror of the unfolding disaster 😆 I regret following the “sound on” advice but I can see it adds to the full effect!

  22. Conscious_War_9855

The point you just accept your fate… I feel that in my soul.

  23. lilyy22337

I never actually understood why would people do this. Save less dishes? My honest reaction when I first saw this kind of mixing ingredients was WTH like just use a bowl…

  24. omgitskells

I turned on the audio after seeing the caption, expecting to hear some cussing or something… somehow the silence with just splatters going everywhere is even funnier (sorry, OP)

  25. MarsupialOk3275

I did this a couple of weeks ago making a full batch of pierogies. Took me 30 minutes to clean up the floor, table, myself, and phone case. Tried and true bowl from now on.
I can laugh about it now at least.

  26. Metaboschism

If only there were some sort of bowl shaped invention that could’ve prevented this

  27. This is just ragebait right? I’ve seen a fail compilation on social media before where the person is unmoulding a cheesecake that is obviously still liquid and all the comments were about them leaving the phone on the counter instead of removing it first.

  28. MammothCoughSyrup

That hurt. I’ve had something similar happen, and my girlfriend just quietly walked in the kitchen with a couple towels so I wouldn’t have to do all of it by myself.

My meltdown was very reserved, but it did happen.

Hopefully you’re still responding to comments. I have a question about your recording setup. Do you use a dedicated camera and mic? The sound was crisp.

  29. BrijFower

Back in my day as a professional baker, we used mixing bowls. Times are strange.

  30. jackrabbit323

Real question, when they do the flour bowl on a table thing, is there any discernible difference in flavor or texture from just using a regular mixing bowl?

  31. Frosty-Cap3344

I always mix stuff in a bowl, I’m not a 90 year old Italian Nonna and I dont need a mess to clean up

  32. I don’t believe it’s possible to financially recover from wasting so many eggs in this economy.

  33. lila-clores

I never understood why people don’t use a bowl for making their dough? Its always flour on the countertop… is there an actual reason for not using a bowl??
