Picked this up from a local “natural wine”focused wine store for $20. It’s keeping me company while I write a work report.
Vinified with indigenous yeast only and aged for 3 months in concrete. Characteristically purple hues set you up for a classic, juicy experience. Strawberries, raspberries, and peonies on the nose which follows through to the palate. Pomegranate joins in midway through. The finish features barely steeped black tea, black pepper, oregano, and a touch of salt. Virtually no tannins but the finish doesn’t completely fall apart due to how juicy this is.
A very lovely, if uncomplicated Beaujolais-village wine. I’d say 88/100 which is what my situation calls for.
What Beaujolais wines do you love? I keep seeing Lapierre recommended.
