Got force shipped 3 cases of these bad boys. I work in a retirement home so unfortunately anything too spicy or “exotic” is off the table, anyone find any uses for this stuff outside of Pho?
Already sent home a container with all my line cooks just to help get through it all.

Well I read that as “Pho Concrete” so I’m going to go make coffee.

Is it a paste? Maybe try marinating something in it. Or maybe add a bit to a savory sauce like a demi or something.

  3. back-in-the-highlife

Maybe try making some really watered down broth for sipping purposes

Making a chicken noodle soup I feel shouldn’t be too bad for them

  5. When I worked in a home, we made soups daily using this exact brand of base. You’ll have to get creative, but I feel like the pho one shouldn’t be too far off from the beef

Probably a good base for braises. Or for a gravy. Old folks love a nice brown sauce.

  7. By “Force shipping”, do you mean they blind shipped something you didn’t order? Or was it included in a deal with something else you needed? If the rep blind shipped you to make their number, tell them to pick it up.

Use it as the jus for French dip sandwiches. Pho-rench dip.

What if you made pho but called it beef noodle and cilantro soup

Are the residents tired of eating pho? A lot of my white friends say they could eat pho every other day if not everyday.

I think you could do Asian inspired carrots with a honey pho concentrate glaze.

call it beef bouillon and fearlessly serve it! by the way, is the concentrate any good?

Judging by that pentagram tattoo you’ll be burning a lot more than 3 cases of pho broth.

  14. Dark humor….they won’t remember the day after? Have a *tasting* menu and serve it 5x ways. Whatever they like the best… there’s your answer.

  15. Sliderisk

Rub it on roasts, build simple soups with it, top sundaes with it for the rude residents.

  16. I use their chicken, veg and beef bases. They are excellent. Way better than the Better than Bullion everyone raves about.

I’d be curious to try this.

Inside out soup dumplings. Tell em it’s beef vegetable.

Lol, you work under a compass/morrison contract? I work at a hospital with them and we just got force shipped (courtesy shipped lmao) 6 cases of this. We have been using it in gravy, goes well with salsbury steak. I’m thinking of trying some in braised cabbage

I’d make it into a simple sauce to keep any of your meat entrees moist. The seniors I cook for love it since they can find chewing hard some days.

Their taste buds are mostly dead aside from “salty.” Use as beef base. Just me mindful of salt
