Can’t really get down with the ketchup- *you do you, I don’t honestly care but, come on, there’s better condiments/accompaniments like chimichurri, bearnaise, peppercorn sauce, wine/stock reductions or a compound butter* -but apart from that I see nothing wrong with this steak other than a liiiiiittle lack of crust.
Some of the meat’s surface doesn’t have as much of that Maillardy goodness. The doneness is what I’d personally call perfect, but I’d have made sure my pan was a tad hotter/smoking.
Overall, I wouldn’t complain at all if you put that in front of me. It would be gone.

For all you griping about ketchup, this was the pandemic era so we allowed passes on what would be abominations any other time. God knows steak was hard af to find in the beginning from all the others stockpiling that and tp for the first 3-4 weeks

The sear is a little weak, but the insides look great. That looks like a tasty steak.
Soooo…whats up with that fire engine red sauce that looks like it came out of a packet from McDonald’s? You didn’t put that on the steak, right? It was for French fries? You don’t need ketchup for steak. It works for burgers because they should be cooked more well done, which will make them more dry. Even then, there are better sauces to offset this.
If you’re going to use sauce on a steak, make a gravy or something similar. A good steak doesn’t need it, but you can at least blend the steak flavor into the sauce and it can be a happy marriage.
But ketchup is overpowering. It’s so sweet. Even if you burn your steak to death and need some sauce and can’t make a good one, use A1. It’s like ketchup, but better.
But you don’t need any of that here. Your steak looks fine. But you ate it with ketchup.
