A Mediterranean diet does not reduce Alzheimer’s disease risk, according to a study published online in Neurology. Dietary data from adult participants without dementia showed that following a Mediterranean diet did not improve disease risk when compared to a non-Mediterranean diet. Research from the Physicians Committee published in Journal of the American College of Nutrition found that a low-fat vegan diet has better outcomes for weight, body composition, insulin sensitivity, and cholesterol levels, compared with a Mediterranean diet.
