I finally made the trip over to Quetzal! Due to the high praise this spot gets, I had super high hopes and Quetzal definitely delivered. I love how unique and creative every dish was, and I feel like it was done it such a delicious and approachable way. We did the tasting menu to try and cover as much as possible and get a good variety. We also sat at the chefs table, which we loved. Every staff member was also so kind and our waiter was great. Just wanted to share my thoughts and experience. Much thanks to this sub for the great recommendation.

Pictures:
1: Tuna Crudo – Flavour and texture was on point. I like how it was sweetened by fruit. Dish was kind of oily though.
2: Hokkaido Scallop Ceviche – Scallops and avocados made such a creamy bite with a little crunch from the grass stuff. Literally could have drank the sauce.
3: Empanada Oaxaquena – Phenomenal. Lamb was so flavourful and tender. I did think the sauce could have been better but it was still good and the dish was fantastic.
4: Ensalada Verde – Super earthy and crunchy, I enjoyed it.
5: Newfoundland Scallop – What dreams are made of, it was insane. It was so buttery and I love the crushed popcorn on top it was so unique and genius. My only complaint was that I wish there was more than 1 per person.
5: Bone Marrow & Wild Argentinian Shrimp – Another heavenly bite, it was so decedent and delicious.
6: Pork Secreto Al Pastor – My favourite dish of the night. Everything on the plate was absolutely incredible and created a harmony in my mouth that should be number 1 on the billboards.
7: Octopus – Cooked perfectly, but the sauce was very strong, almost too strong, and the lime juice balanced it out nicely but there wasn’t enough to properly balance it out.
8: Mushroom & Shishito – Love the char on the veggies, and it paired well with the sauce.
9: Tres Leches Cake – This was soooo good. Super moist and spiced so well. I love the sweetness and tartness coming from the sea buckthorn berry in the sauce it was sitting in, it was so creative and fit the cake perfectly.
10: Spiced Mexican Chocolate – Honestly I could have done without it and was my least favourite thing. The sponge toffee was good but the seeds were interesting and personally I like sweet things and I thought the mousse was too bitter and didn’t taste the best.

Overall I left the place stuffed with a huge smile on my face from the phenomenal experience.
