i need to have a toothpick handy at the pan while cooking this to pop those few bubbles that closed up. its a work in progress. ive never had a real crumpet from england before. cant wait for these to cool down so i can toast them up with some butter.

My dad was raised in England, moved to the states as a kid. Two things he made ‘cause he loved ‘em but couldn’t get them here: crumpets and pork pies. Your crumpets look every bit like his did, and his were delicious!

    Those look fantastic!

Our fanciest hotels serve crumpets with butter – nothing else – it’s wonderful.

The ones in the package have a softer top
