I remember my first cook. It was a hell a lot worse then yours. I didn’t have my torch yet and was trying to use a small welding torch, it was sad and made the stake taste like propane [Hank Hill lied to me! burns clean my ass!]. Keep going and you will be out doing yourself each time.

Looks like you seared it with a heated argument. Try letting your pan heat up for more time before putting your steak on it so it even sears. Patting the steak dry before you put it on there is very helpful too.

That steak was too wet when you put it in the cast iron. Pat it dry first next time and I bet you’ll be surprised.
