This is my second year of sharing my extra seedlings with my community! I channeled my stress into growing a ton of seedlings…like close to 100! It’s great to meet neighbors I don’t normally interact with and share my gardening knowledge with them. The plants are free but I take small donations to help cover the cost of dirt, pots, and fertilizer.

Wish I was in your community😔 my tomato seedlings died for some reason so I’ll have to buy a couple this year. Peppers are doing great though!

  2. This is great! This was my first year doing something similar – but I sold them all for 1$ to cover the costs of stuff. Wasn’t trying to make money, just trying to share 😊

That’s really cool of you to do that !

  4. Great idea! I get so many volunteer tomatoes from composting, I should start giving them away.

As someone who got scammed out of $200 worth of tomato and pepper plants this year, I wish I was your neighbor. 😭😭😭

This is such a good idea and I’ll do it next year for sure. I disposed of some seedlings this year and it was painful. Luckily my mother-in-law is taking a couple squash and pepper plants for us but they’re struggling still being in their pots.

I do this too! Inspired by the Free Little Libraries, I put out extra starts I’ve done from seed and packets of extra seed I saved from the previous year. I love to share, everything always finds a home and I think I’ve gotten a few neighbors into a new hobby too
