Oh my SAME. I started with three 6-cells of Seascape, San Andreas, and Albion. Later added a 6-cell of Delizz, Chandler and of Mara des Bois. I *stupidly* didn’t want to cut off runners my first year with them because, well, who wants to kill baby strawberry plants!?
I now have exactly 96 plants and now I prune runners like a medieval executioner, that is unless I need new ones; and fyi, I don’t. Every day it’s 2-3lbs- it started a few weeks ago. It’s just like Sungolds. I can’t eat them as fast as they’re coming in, colleagues are burnt out on them and I’ve started to freeze them. It’s a happy, happy problem to have though!
I’m going all in on my strawberries this year. I have 3 plants in one pot and my plan is to grab every runner it puts out and just have a mountain of strawberries by this time next year!

The smell of Granma M’s cooking every late May until second week of June. Grandpa loved them. On ice cream, in cereal or muffins. All year long.

I had a smaller happy problem like this happen when strawberries were planted in the community garden and I was the only one picking them because I felt so bad that they were rotting.
Fresh strawberry syrup is my go to, I slightly macerate the strawberries with sugar and let sit in the fridge overnight (optional you could prob go for a couple hours) them use a sieve to push the syrup without the seeds through, then freeze in batches. Amazing on waffles crepes or pancakes or just mixed into sparkling water with lemon.

Growing up we spent much of the summer slicing up strawberries and putting them in baggies.

How many strawberry plants do you have? Can you share a picture of your garden?
