Made only from old vine Pinot Meunier from 1er cru Vrigny. 3 years on yeast, 1 gr/L dosage. 2020 vintage forms the base.

What an incredible wine. The color is a beautiful gold tinge of salmon and the nose jumps out of the glass with bread dough, pear, baked apple and all the usual champagne suspects but it’s deeper and more complex than the usual. The finish is eternal and minerally like a salty rock pear.

Can’t wait to revisit this one…

Surely there is love for Pinot Meunier! Jerome Prevost is a herald of it! Seek it out and you will be rewarded.

Thanks for the notes, the Egly sounds lovely!

  2. Great bubbles… would recommend a tulip or burg bowl next time.

I genuinely recommend a regular glass for sparkling wines. Flutes are pretty, but they offer zero in terms of a bouquet – and that’s half the experience. I wouldn’t offer Jimmy Hendrix or Artie Shaw a shitty TEMU speaker for their music either; a wine like this deserves a proper glass!

Lots of love for Egly and Meunier, no love for flutes

  5. I love Meunier-heavy champagne and I’m glad it’s a little less “prestigious” than Chardonnay and Pinot–all the more for me!

No. Absolutely not. Fuck pinot meunier, zero love for Pinot meunier. I’ve had it many, many times and it’s the worst grape in the world. I would never in my entire life drink a wine made from this trash, waste grape again. But you posted a champagne? Good stuff!! Love for champagne!
