Hi, it's my first time growing from seed and I've managed to grow this one determinate plant. I know it's very tall and leggy… I did plant the stem deeper when I potted it on into this larger pot, but I guess it hasn't been getting quite enough light.
Is it too soon to plant out into a pot in the garden? I'm in the north of England (zone 9a, I think).

Thanks

I may the only one…but to my eyes it doesn’t look leggy 😭 I was going to put mine out(I’m in the southwest) but all this week has might temps of about 5° so I thought I’d wait ha

    Looks fine to me.

Plant out when the nighttime temperature is reliably above 10 degrees, which may be in a week or so.

Will be worth starting to harden it off now.

Not leggy at all! Your stem is pretty thick, and sturdy looking. Remove the cotyledons and plant all the way up the stem. The plant will develop roots all along the buried stem.

This plant is all good. If it’s time just plant it in your beds up to its neck. You’re not having problems, you’re on track

  5. This looks fine. I’ll note with tomatoes you can bury as much of the stem as you like and it’ll grow roots. Sometimes they grow aerial roots! The more root the more top so it’s worth burying them, they can draw much more nutrients that way. Leave the crown clear of the soil, the leaves and leaf branches should not touch or drag on the soil.
